Printer question to computer experts

I have used various HP models for many years with no complaints. I use a Laserjet 200 at home and absolutely love it.

I always recommend HP to my clients.

I have always been big on HP, but have just bought 3 Canon laser printers in the last two years and am very impressed. I just got a 26 ppm  D530 at Amazon in November for $68 delivered to my door, it is an amazing piece of hardware and the replacement toner cartridges are very inexpensive.

I had an old HP Laserjet 4+ (bought summer 1994) that lasted me for general school and then home use for nearly 20 years.  Unfortunately it finally died around 2 years ago.

When I finally got around to replacing it last summer, I did ultimately go with another HP Laserjet , but a color model this time (for about 1/3 - 1/5 what I paid for the 1st one ) (I forget the exact model #, but I think it's in the 400 series).

The thing I found and acted on when shopping was that I ultimately did not restrict myself to the models that happened to be on the shelves at the big box stores. 

I initially saw this family of printer with either wireless connectivity or duplex capability at the stores, but never saw the model that had both (maybe the stores shoot for a certain price point).  I found out such a model did exist and special ordered it from Best Buy when  it was on a sale at hp.com (one of the entities they will price match). 

I guess my point there is figure out what features are must have (or really nice to have) within your budget and expand your research accordingly.  The item may actually exist.

In general I am pretty happy with my purchase, but I've not yet used it enough to see how much I will be a fan when I need to start replacing the multiple toner cartridges.
