Over half the folks who have signed the "are you interested" sheets at shows have said they wanted just one unit, possibly to pair with a P5.

I believe it has gone in to hibernation for now at least.
Those are pretty rare units. I wonder how big the market really is? How many of each did Pennsy have?

4 E2b's, 2 E3b's and 2E2c's.
The E2b's had two different fronts, with & without number plate.
Am I the only one or are there others who would pay for a custom builder to build or radically modify an existing model to make one or the other?
The NH jet was modeled on the E2b and the Baldwin shark may be a starting point for the E3b & E2c.
I can think of a few names who might be interested, but I will not name names.

No you are not the only one. I would gladly pay for a custom builder to build an AA set of E2bs. Provided they were done right.
A custom build or kit bash is probably the only way to get one of these.
For several years I have put out a "sign up" sheet supplied by John Sethian at shows inquiring about interest in these, specifically the E2b as this could be a potential Sunset Models project in brass. When Scott Mann and I discussed the price he was thinking along the lines of over $1500 per pair. Many told me that was out of their budget. Keep in mind the NYC T motors were $700 or $800 and there were over 200 of them made. We don't think Sunset can sell more than 100 of these units (50 pair).
The importing business faces constant change and perhaps a run of 120 units (60 pair) may be possible. My belief is that if Sunset will ever announce these units it would probably be in late 2016 as a future project if sufficient reservations would be attained.

I do not know of any custom builders. If you do, you can count me in for a pair, any version the builder wants to make.

These would be interesting to see - they have that handsome Alco/GE carbody styling. I would not be a buyer, most likely, as I am waiting on my 3rd Rail NYC R-motor (I have the T-motor and the MTH P-motor), so you see my electric leanings...but, who knows - I do have a couple or three PRR electrics, like Big Liz and an E44.
I'd like to see these "E's" produced.
Something like this unfinished 027 E2b shell?
