I bought a Lionel TMCC S2 Turbine and got it set up for the layout. I installed a Kadee on the tender and put ERRCo Cruise M in the engine for better speed control. I wanted to increase its blowage rate so I experimented by installing a couple magnets and a reed switch on one of the tender wheels and ran it to pin 22 on the RS board. I kept the cherry switch in the engine so now it makes all kinds of racket. Here's some quick iPad shots and a vid:

Pin 22? The speaker? I'm assuming the older modular RS board as the new one doesn't have any pin 22.
Pin 21, 22, hey whatever it takes.
As always, really nice Norm.
Sounds great, any upgrade to the sound or speaker?
No, no reason to. The tender has dual speakers although they are pre-Fat Boy era. The sound is stock too. Funny thing is, I bought this particular sound board from Lionel service when they started listing them online thinking I'd use it in a 3rd Rail S2 if I ever got one.
Wow Norm - very nice. I like the weathering on the engine and cars. Great sound out of the Turbine!!! Looks cool passing thru the bridge
Awesome Norm! Of course, if the S2 does turn out to operate prototypically there will be quite a few 1:48 boilermakers, mechanical engineers, and engine men with a lot of job security!
Seriously, it looks great, sounds great and as usual, your layout is beautifully done.

Thx you guys. I always wanted one of these and kept watching for a 3rd Rail one but this came along at a good enough price.
Lookin' good Norm. Keep up the good work.
Funny thing is when I clicked on the video, I had to do a double take... I thought I left the Heat Gun on in the other room!
Norm really enjoy your posts!
Thanks John, thanks Erik!
Norm, you do some amazing work! Can you be my neighbor!
That's darn sweet, Norm.
Always love your video's Norm, great fun. I became caught up in the video and did'n read your info, and I thought it must be the 3RD Rail model. cTr...( Choose the Right )
Very nice. And this is from a dedicated two-railer who would like to see more of your layout.
Very, very nice. I'm sure that this has been asked before, but how do you weather your engines? What do you use, exactly? Process?
Love seeing your posts.
GREAT JOB NORM!!!!
Astounding as usual!!!!!
Killer layout and rolling stock
Thx again for the kind words. Larry, I shoot Model Masters acrylics for my steam weathering. Grimy Black does most of the work, followed by some RR Tie or Roof Brown on some of the running gear. This one got a bit of Oily Black shot on the drivers and I usually do a few light puffs of Rust on the couplers. I like to do a bit of drybrushing on the drivers and trucks with acrylics, mixing a light to medium gray color. I may also drybrush a few selected details here and there to help pop them. I did a bit of chalk/pigment wash on the firebox sides on this one, with some minor streaking, not sure if that's noticeable in the pics. I sometimes lightly shoot a dirt/rust tone onto the running boards for a bit of contrast but skipped it on this one.
Wow!, just plain Wow!
Locomotive and scenery look great!
So very cool !! Very enjoyable to watch -as usual.
