You can still post it in the general 3R area.  I'd recommend emailing GGG about it.  He does board repairs so has experience of which parts to look at for what issues.

G, you're the BEST!!! As you mentioned, I did begin tracing the circuit, to map it out on paper. I found it easier once I removed the 2 relays. Besides mapping underneath, I shot some pictures to help as a refresher. Yes, the top board technology is first generation PS-2, with  much more surface mounted componets. I had tested the 2N 5084 (something like that), but I'm going to try setting my scope up and test it live.

Would maybe a friendly email to QSI help any? I mean with chip reprogramming if the need arises...or would they just blow you off when the word PS1 is mentioned?? 

Great suggestion, BUT any previous attempts to communicate with QSI, has never worked for me................
