I am a total newb here and can't find the answer to a question so hoping someone can help. I just bought a K-line MP15 diesel engine with dual motors (O scale). I am not sure what to do with the switches underneath. One says off/on and one says parallel/series. I just have a simple conventional track right now using a Lionel cw-80 transformer. Any help? Thanks in advance.

The parallel/series switch refers to switching the motor wiring, that may not have been apparent. The series setting wires the motors in series, so you'll get better low speed control, but not as much pulling power or top end speed.

The on/off switch I assume is the switch to select Forward-Neutral-Reverse or locked in one direction.
Yep, it's the reverse lockout switch. Of course, on some it just turns off the sound, but I believe that will be the reverse lockout.
