I have bought a Railking southern Ps-4 4-6-2, I place iI on tracks ran than I stopped it and it would not run no noise just when I throttle up I get 3 clangs , I read book twice to find a solution about lock out tried the Remedies but to no avail, I am new at this if anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. I have a lionel 80 watt transformer.

The dead battery is a simple issue.  You can actually install a standard 9 volt battery in it (the battery that comes in it is just a rechargeable 9 volt battery).  But, I would recommend installing a BCR, which is a capacitor that acts like a battery but it means that your problem won't happen again with it installed.  And after you or Gunrunnerjohn has reset it, it will run like a charm.  So I wouldn't recommend returning it as you have a potentially very nice engine on your hands.

The three clanks need to be reset, and the proper batteries are cheap.  I have the reset chips to beat those back into submission.
