I built the MTH version several year ago. Now, I see they have a Fastrack version. You have a choice of several track plans that you can use with the plans. The layout is built out of foam board and comes apart in two or three sections, depending on which size you build. The part that takes the longest is laminating the individual plans to the foam core sheets and cutting out the pieces with a foam knife. This is a good product with very good product support. If you want to build a small three dimensional layout with scenery, this is a great product.

Chris, I unfortunately have no photos. I built it after my divorce, when I lived in Minnesota in an apartment . I got remarried after about 3 years and moved to Florida (retired). It didn't survive the trip as the movers were not as careful as I had hoped.

The two end pieces do nestle together to form a box, as they show, but you have to keep trees and other scenery below the top edge where they come together. This is evident when you build it. If you add the middle section to extend it to 4x8, that piece has to remain separate.

If you search YouTube for Railroad in a box, there is a video of how one guy built his. You have more options with this than people think you do.
