Hello to the 3 Rail Crowd,

I posted this last Saturday on the S scale board and received 0 responses.  I have seen that there are some Reading fans over here so I thought I should maybe give you a try.

Is there anyone who might know where I could find more info on a Reading G3?  I’m not that much of a modeler so I definitely could use some drawings to look at.

Thanks,

Hello Everybody,

I’m thinking about a real bash project… turning a Flyer Atlantic into a Reading 4-6-2 G3.  However, I could use more info than is in the Kalmbach Cyclopedia of Steam Locomotives.

If anyone know of a source of drawings, I would appreciate learning about it.

Thanks,

Yes, I have looked but didn’t see anything… I also tried to join The Reading Modeler, however their site doesn’t seem to be active anymore.

I’ve Googled all over the web and can’t even find a decent picture let alone plans or drawings.

Thanks for the suggestion,

A great book is The Reading Railroad's Mightly Pacifics by Benjamin Bernhart.

It has lots and lots of pictures of Reading's G1/G2/G3 Pacifics.

It does include drawings on the G1 and a sketch of the G3.  I would offer to scan the drawings for you, but, unfortunately, don't have access to a scanner right now.
