I have several Ross Custom automatic switches controlled now by DZ-2500's. Are the DZ-1000's interchangeable with the DZ-2500's on the same switch?

Not exactly sure what you are asking, but the DZ-1000's will also operate a Ross switch (one or the other switch machine, not both at the same time). I am not familiar with the DZ-2500's so the wiring may be slightly different between the two?
I think Ross gives you the option of either switch machine when you order a switch with switch a machine.
I interpret the question as: Is it possible to change over from a DZ-1000 to a DZ 2500 switch machine to control the same model of Ross switch? If that is the question the answer is that either can be successfully used.
rtr12 and Dennis are correct; Ross sells the same switch with either the DZ1000 or DZ2500 switch machine, so they are interchangeable.
That is precisely the information I needed. Thank you all for your quick answers.

The difference:
DZ 2500 switch motors can be TMCC controlled. Slow motion movement.
DZ 1000's are pushbutton control only. Snap motion movement.
Bob, I trust the folks here to give accurate information. I also like to check the vendor when I can. Here's a link to Ross' website. You can go to the price list and see the "no switch machine" switch, and the DZ1000 and DZ2500 RossReady options:
thanks to you both.

Slight correction. DZ1000's can be controlled by a Cab 1 or 2 with the use of a DZ-2000 switch machine controller. They operate flawlessly for me.
