I'm not real happy with this first attempt at creating a 24" Polar Express Christmas tree. Sometimes it works real well, But it seems susceptible  to minor variable changes in how level it is, plus I've never been happy with the noise level and I think I'd like to use a larger Sled and reindeer.

I'm thinking of starting from scratch with a different drive system. Maybe a phonograph turn table or a grill rotisserie. Checking the rotisserie; the noise level is about the same as the Santa Pylon. It draws .3 amps and can drive a 36" long 1/4" shaft for extended periods. That would allow for a pretty hefty sleigh. Haven't found an appropriate turn table motor to test yet. I think a direct drive turntable would probably work best but they're not as easy to find as a belt drive.

If anyone has suggestions they'd be appreciated.
