Sets that contained Ives RR Lines 1690 & 1691 | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Hi,

I picked up a few 1690 Ives RR Lines passenger cars this weekend. From my research they were sold by Lionel in 1931 & 1932, but I am not able to find them in the two catalogs. I found some on the "bay" that were a part of a set, but I m trying to identify exactly what was sold in the set. Would anyone know what sets these cars would have been used in and what the sets would have consisted of?

You're looking in the wrong catalogs.

They were shown in the 1931 and 1932 IVES catalogs. They were headed by either a #1651 box cab or 257 steam.

Update — In 1932 the Ives catalog offered Outfit #1613 with two 1690's, a 1691 and headed by a 1661 steam outline loco.

Lionel also used these cars,however, they were blue, 1692 Pullman and 1693 Observ.
