I am looking for a new or used Shay or Heisler as well as logging related spine cars, etc. I need something that will operate reliably on 054 curves, so no 4 truck models for sure. TMCC or Legacy, or ProSound 2.0 or 3.0.

Jeffrey F,
I have a new Legacy Shay, I love it and modified it's back stairs slightly, to run on 036 Curves, a great piece of Legacy Shay engine, I recommend it highly. I would however purchase it Brand new. I believe Patrick's trains might have one, and he treats OGR people real well with his OGR discounts. I picked up the Skeleton Logging Cars from Mark, one of the OGR members, the K-line originals are great stuff.
You can due a OGR search for our thread.

Thanks for the info-- and the picture! I am in the planning stages of a basement railroad, getting the room ready, etc. I really like narrow gauge stuff-- mainly because of the geared engines-- Climax, Shay, or Heisler. I bit the bullet and bought a new MTH Climax with three cars-- never have taken them out of the box (hope the wife does not read this...) and my goal is to get one each of the other two types. I also like small switch engines, and things like box cabs-- and critters--I just think on a modest size railroad, small stuff looks more realistic. I am not familiar with Patrick's trains, but I will Google them up.
There was a thread recently on scratch built log cars, might be a way to inexpensively build your logging fleet.
I'll dig that thread up and take a look. Thanks for the heads up.
