Some time ago, one of us posted some photos of a skyscraper under construction using some components from a building kit from Kenner. I have a young man that wants to tackle one of these for our layout. Any chance one of you has photos of something like this I can show him?

Thanks

I use Kenner building sets for my town hall under construction.  I don't have enough pieces of one color so the front half is black and the back half is blue./

Its supposed to have a center tower that will be a clock tower.

This is the back side and I have left girders unplaced so that it looks like the construction is on going.

Hi Alan • I recognize the building on the right.

Kenner Building Set, from the 50's & 60's

I had this kit, when I was a kid. Shown in photo below.....

You can find these on the Big Bay - I still have my set in the attic.

That is correct Gary!!  Right now under my layout I have about 20 or 25 sets of set number 8.  I thought I was going to use them and bought a bunch off of Ebay back in the late 1990's.  I have some mint sets and also have around 100 more various Girder and Panel sets.  I need to get rid of them since I will not need as many as I thought....probably need to get them back up on the "bay"..!

Actually, the set number 8 is less expensive than most of the various sets that Bridge Street Toys sells and has a lot more variety of pieces which allows one to build not only a building, but bridges, etc.  I checked completed auction prices and they range from $41.00 down to $25.00.

There is another company producing these under the name of Power City Construction.  They also seem to be less expensive than the other versions available.  I believe there was an earlier thread here on the forum that talked about them.....
