I have a few of these and need your opinions about them. I am not sure of the number (1033/1044 ???). Not at home right now. I used these in the 60's and the cords look ok. Any inherent problems or things I should be aware of? I would use these for very small loops of track (Marx or Postwar engines), and accessories. I get varied opinions locally. I also have some Marx allstate transformers.

Thanks,

Bob

Nothing wrong with either of those numbers for transformers, unless you actually need more power than they can provide.  Since many of those transformers are 50 years or even older, I would make sure that the plug in cords are new.  The old rubber insulation gets brittle after a while and could short out.  New cords are not all that expensive.
