guys, anybody have one of the Kendal 937D solder station? variable heating. Plugged it in and I get H-E. Lost my manual, so I am stuck as to what happened. I thought heating element went bad. they do give a spare, I can try that.
Just when I wanted to solder my Mars light board! lol

Yes, try the spare. I don't have that brand, but I had the element go bad on mine a while back. It happens.

Yeah Chris, just think of all the heating and cooling cycles you put it through.

it never fails though.. it craps out right when I have the wire to the solder pad and all ready and......... 
pulling it apart, they have a mini board that they soldered the heating element wires to and then leads from the cord to this. A good thing I have a weller soldering iron! lol. using a soldering iron to fix a soldering iron!
Nothing like the plug-in soldering tips for the Hakko I have.

not a big pain, but not the easiest either! it works though! finally able to solder again.
Better order another spare element.
