If you can go with the 1:64 size a company named M2Machines has some nice vehicles that are really reasonably priced. I had a couple, but gave them to my grandson. He really liked them. I think Diecast Direct has them and probably all the other diecast vehicle sellers. Ebay and Amazon might also be good places to look. My LHS carries them too, that is where I got mine.

Kind of hard to tell without seeing one with it, but just guessing I think that size might go pretty good with the house in your picture. Also, I believe Lionel uses 1:64 for their tractor trailer rigs for trains. I think it fits in with the traditional sizes much better, but I am no expert on this stuff by any means...mostly guess work.

The 1:48 and 1:50 items are difficult to fine and sometimes a bit pricey.

Problem with Menards and other supplier who have 1/48 scale vehicles is for those of us who model earlier times such as 1952 in my case...we can't use modern vehicles. That unfortunately is what is most commonly available. Selection in 1/43 scale is vastly more varied and since I can use 1/43 scale vehicles as background pieces, that where I find the few vehicles I need to add realism.

Exactly my problem.  I'll check into the 1/64. Menards has quite a selection, but I think they are 1/43.

Just checked Menards. Their 16 pack does say 1/48. Thanks.

I have one of the Menards 16 packs and they are a little smaller than my 1:43 stuff so 1:48 sounds right there. I was thinking Menards had some 1:64, and they did, but it was their small construction vehicles like Bobcats, etc., not the autos.

SORRY, THEY'RE SOLD.

I have 8 Renwal and Revell plastic kits of cars  from the 1940 through 1950.  These are very good looking true 1/48 models, and quite easy to assemble.  If you're interested, I'll list them on the For Sale board later today.  The kits are from the '60's and '70's, still in the original boxes, and most with the cellophane wrapping intact.
