Do you think people will just put the stuff they buy in these strollers? Next thing you know the halls of York will look like NY City with the strollers as Busses and people without strollers as Cars and Cabs. And now its trafficy.
Be careful,,,what you wish for!! I wished for wider aisles and found them, and
that it required two trips down an aisle, to see what was on one side and
what was on the other...where before with eye and headturns you could sweep
both sides in a narrower aisle. As for strollers, which this smart aleck made
"facetious" jokes about, I saw ONE stroller Thursday, and only TWO today,
Friday, and I tripped over none. The other hazards were still there, but they
were alleviated by the wider aisles. I am sure some groups went home frustrated because they could not block the wider aisles with BS conventions.
They will really have to bring in a lot more strollers to even equal a Greenberg or other national show. I guess strollers are a non problem.
Turns out that strollers were a non-issue.
The frequent PA announcements reminding people that strollers were to be used for children, not as a shopping cart, were entertaining. And a bit sad that it was deemed necessary to remind adults about it.
The lady that does the announcements has been doing a great job for years and probably could do them in her sleep. It was entertaining to hear her try to do the new announcements about the strollers and cameras.

IMHO, you are right. There is something sad - even pitiful - about all the carping that oozes out so regularly. And embarrassing.
As I walked into Costco this morning, I thought about this thread. A lot of traffic and huge buggies. Some shoppers with (2) buggies. Relatively fit, both my wife and I, it takes two to shop safely and successfully. I don't think that foot traffic, at the York show is anywhere near as intense as Costco shopping, especially a Saturday about noon. IMO.

Kind of absurd. I guess that means that anyone in a motorized scooter must remain in the scooter at all times. When I first heard the announcement I couldn't believe it.
Bottom line, it worked. No one got hurt, the sun rose (and set) and all is fine. Thank you EDTCA for moving forward here. It was time.
It may have been absurd for the announcements to be made regularly for strollers but it did work. The other item that I thought was the way the handicapped had to register - meaning they had to run through the lines with the rest of the crowd. I would suggest that the TCA figure out a better way to register and provide badges.
I saw this a few times and a few folks around me also suggested a better way the help them get registered / badge pick up easier.

My favorite announcement was the frequent one that reminded us all that PHOTOGRAPHERS were not allowed in the member halls. I only saw one stroller in 2 days and heard nothing from anyone I talked to about any issues it has caused.

While sitting in my car waiting for Timonium to open this morning, I saw a lady, apparently a dealer, with a child in a stroller, repeatedly from some distance out in the parking lot, fill the stroller (with kid) with boxes and push them into the Cow Palace (show building) returning again and again, always with stroller and child, to fill it with large boxes, hanging over kid's head, or crammed into the frame of the stroller.
As for complaints about York aisles, that I have made, if ONLY they had aisles at
Timonium...tables are spread helter-skelter, with no rhyme or reason and it is a pain
to navigate that show...you never know, and this is not my first trip, if you've seen
everything. York IS organized.

Funny you mention that Mike, There was a "behind scenes" show about Costco that mentioned that the isles are set up that way for a specific reason. A lot of research went into actually figuring out what customers gravitate to first and purchase. The main isle and its flow of consumer traffic is known to employees as the " Runway". Maybe some train shows should consider this set up.
Two different mind-sets though, shopping for groceries and shopping for fun. 
I went shopping today and came home with four window's.
