Syncing Railsounds to 990??

all the 990 does is control your trains.

I do not understand what you are trying to do.

you can add sound to anything you want.

In order to have the sounds respond to command signals, you'll have to have something like the ERR Dummy Locomotive board to drive the sound card.  Basically, you need a TMCC receiver that supplies a serial data output signal so that the RailSounds card gets the command serial data.

Yes, assign the same number to the "sound only" units and they should respond in sync. Follow gunrunnerjohns instructions.

(To use factory Lionel pieces , think you have to incorporate a manual volume pot.)

Spoke with Ken at Eletric Railroad (Lionel referred me) today and he stated that he has all the components needed. Although he was not completely sure that the horn sounds would sound a like. Have any of you used Eletric Railroad sound cards? Any thoughts on this??

a lot of us here have used their products.

If you visit The Electric RR and click on the Purchase link, then the Rail Sounds Commander Products link, you'll find a link for each RS Commander board to a sound sample for the sound board.  You can find out yourself which one works.
