I'm thinking of getting a table this year and this would be the first time for me and so I was wondering how are tables assigned to those who didn't have a table before from the previous meet? Do I as a member get to select a hall as my first choice? Don't see that on the form yet their is a space for those who had a table previously as their is a spot to note table location last time.
Also are any of the member halls more popular than others?

You can ask for a certain hall, but you may not get it . If you have never had a table, they will put you where ever they have space.

As far as any hall being more popular or better for selling, I've found over the years that it really doesn't matter where you are. If your prices are reasonable, the buyers will find you. But, be patient and don't get discouraged by slow early sales. The meet is so large, it will be mid-day Friday before some buyers finally reach your table.
All halls have a variety of sellers with a variety of merchandise. No one hall specializes in prewar or modern, etc. It all depends on who happens to bring what that year.
Some factors that might be important to you:
- All but the red hall have bathrooms inside that hall. For the red, you have to walk to an outside restroom entrance.
- The blue hall is the largest of the member halls, and so, by the odds, is a likely location for first timers. But, if you have a preference, just ask on your registration form.
- There is a snack bar in the blue/silver hall complex. For the others, food vendors are located outside the halls.
- The blue hall has the most paved parking adjacent to the hall. Parking near the red is mostly on grass, and the white is farthest from large parking areas. Whatever hall you set up in, bring a hand truck for hauling your stuff.

You know you've been to a lot of Yorks when you know a certain dealer was not in the same spot as last time, and when you can tell what he has is "new" vs what you've seen before. Scary.

Yeah. Much wasn't rusted when they started schlepping it to York.
I call these trains the "traveling collections." Some prices are so high they'll never sell in today's market.
I think of it as "I want to carry it back home" pricing.
