To Everyone,

I'd like to give a thank you(several days late) to Dave & Brian at Mercer Junction Train Shoppe.   I attempted to run a recently acquired 3RD RAIL B&LE 2-10-4 at one of our club members layout several weeks ago,  but as the old saying goes, "the lights are on but nobody's home".  All that worked were the lights-no sound, no smoke, no movement.(Of course,  the more people watching,  the greater the odds of this happening!!!).  This engine has TMCC/Railsounds 4 with the EOB cruise,  Turbosmoke,  etc. Last Saturday I phoned Dave Minarik,  the owner,  and Dave told me to bring the engine in on Tuesday and that Brian,  the electrical tech would take a look at the engine.  So on Tuesday,  I drove the 50 minutes to Mercer Junction, and within about a half hour after Brian got his hands on the engine,  he found the problem, a bad receiver board, which he removed and replaced with a new one and had the engine up and running on the store layout.  Service doesn't get any better that that!!!  If anyone lives near or is just passing through the area of Mercer, Pa do yourself a favor and stop by and say hello.

Nick

Dave is indeed an accomplished drummer. He's a member of "The Clarks", who are well known in the Pittsburgh area, and gaining notoriety as people are introduced to their music. Dave is also an accomplished builder of custom motorcycles.  We had the privilege of seeing some of his builds when we visited him at his home a few years ago. AWESOME!
