Did you happen to give 5 min epoxy a try on the inside corners?  I have used CA sometimes, but I've switched to using epoxy most of the time, usually putting the expoy on 1/4" basswood corner braces

No I did not have an epoxy on hand, other than JB weld... ....

so I used super glue and a mix of yellow carpenter glue... the carpenter glue acts as a catalyst to the super glue, so it bonds quickly to the wood (bass wood) and the vinyl material... pretty strong too.

I, too, have always been intrigued by this model....but in a somewhat different way.  If you put some awnings on it, a more formal, wood front door, and change the windows out to something less "industrial", this makes for an excellent apartment building that would have been built in the 1920s or so.

In the suburbs of Cleveland, you still see apartment buildings built in this style of architecture in places like Shaker Heights, Lakewood, and a host of other suburbs that were heavily populated before WWII....and still are today.

No doubt Alex is a man of many talents. Nice work again Alex.

I agree. I like the add on fire escape steps offered in a later Korber apartment building kit.... I am going to add it to my Office Building...

Great job and lots of important tips. I don't think I am ever going to get one of these because I don't have the space for it but it is a neat building.

That is interesting, I never tried CA mixed with wood glue. I will have to give that a try, maybe on some resin walls.

JDADDY one nice job putting that building together. Seeing you enjoy putting them together so much. I think I will haul my kits up to you, you can have fun putting them together and in the spring after the snow melts I'll return to pick them up and have fun placing them on my layout with out the pressure of building them LOL. But I have enjoyed watching you put your buildings together....Paul

hmm sounds like an offer... But I have not found the easy way to do the Korber kits.

J Daddy your build on the office is as good as your compliment to Alex.  Looks like to power company's CEO contemplating his empire from his top floor office.  I can't believe you went with adding floors, that's a lot of floor space to detail in the future.I had never heard about using the yellow wood glue as a catalyst for the CA.  As far as Alex's wizardry goes, the volume of amazing structures he turns out in addition to upgrades and repairs on engines and rebuilding his layout there must surely be magic involved.

Yes, its true that Alex is  wizard, but those of us who knew kept it a secret. What you did not know is that Alex has also taught Harry Potter on how to be a wizard. Where do you think the Hogwart's train came from. Now you know.

J Daddy that is a easy one to build here's my building, try to build a roundhouse I have about 60 Hrs. in the roundhouse .

Is that two kits put together or do they offer a 6 stall?

As we all know I build tons of Korber structures on a regular basis. There's a few things I can pass on to help the build go a bit easier. But I can't give my secrets away!  JUST KIDDING LOL 

first thing is I always use hot glue on all my builds, along with CA glue. It helps a lot to have a jig set up to keep everything square while glueing. The big secret is this, see below 

This is a 23 gauge pin nailer which I shoot through the Korber material and 1/4 inch square stock, please use extreme caution when using this type of pin nailer it can go right through your finger the pins are extremely sharp, or just let me do the build LOL   

Now I have the get back to the workbench

I agree, that certainly is a good tip an I am also going to try it. I had no idea these two glues worked together like this.

Sure a lot to learn around here and I am glad everyone shares their tips with the rest of us.

Great work JDaddy. Did you paint the brick walls an old orangy color? If so, what paint did you use? And what paint did you use to make the concrete color?

That is 3 stall kit 304 with 3 add on stall's kits 304A and 6 big boy kits 304B .
