I acquired a prewar Lionel 3651 log dump car at my local weekend train show, thinking it could use some TLC. Sure enough, I found it needed rewiring. The two wires underneath were dry and cracked. So I figured I would simply replace the wire.
Unsoldering the wires to the solenoid was easy. But the wires to the pick ups in the trucks are completely unreachable...
Any ideas for how to reach these spots? I can see the trucks are secured by a bolt and C-clip, but the C-clips won't budge at all.
