Derek did a really great job on this truly, labor of love in which he spent many hours chronicling the "World's Oldest Lionel Service Station" and the two brothers with the different last names!  I was invited to write a chapter for the book [Chapter 9] relating my numerous experiences at 105 E 23rd St., in New York and was honored to do so.  If you haven't gotten a copy yet, you should - this is Lionel history as Lou and Carl were extremely close to Lionel founder Joshua Cowen, and the numerous contributors to Derek's book  all have wonderfully  interesting stories to tell.  If you've never been to Madison, or you were a regular at the store, you will undoubtedly find this book amusing, informative, fascinating, at times rollickingly funny and yet at times so sad, but always entertaining!

Best wishes to all,

Len Carparelli

Yeah, I do know that they were both born Shur, but I didn't learn this until after I dealt with them for well over ten years! I always wondered about this until I got close with Carl and he told me about his show biz career.   I still like to think of them as the brothers with different names.  BTW: Carl took great pleasure in distancing himself from his brother in this unusual way.

Best Wishes to all,

Len Carparelli

Thanks to all for stopping by the booth at York and the museum. The books have sold VERY VERY well. Also my thanks to Len and all the contributors who made this possible. I keep saying that it takes a village and it does.

As to shipping, we have the boxes, shipping labels, and invoices. We are waiting on the plastic bags to protect them. Right now we have a packing day scheduled for next Tuesday Nov. 1. If everything goes well we will get everyone packed that day and in the mail on Wednesday the second. I appreciate everyone who preordered being patient. Organizing a shipping effort of this size has proved to be challenging!

More info and tidbits from the book coming in the near future once things settle down a bit.
