This is so interesting, I thought I would also post it seperately. Our neighbor Gilbert Gustafson was involved in transporting one of the locomotive to the filming site, and had many stories to tell about watching and even playing a non speaking rebel later. The Great Locomotive Chase sees showing at our house at least several times a year.

Pretty sure that show is on the deluxe edition of the Disney film. I'll try and pull my DVD copy and make sure. GREAT film with many real locomotives. One of the reasons I like the era.
One of our area modelers was was watching the film at our clubhouse several years ago and had us look out for his great grandmother's house that was briefly visible in the movie.
