Hello everyone,

This past spring York Meet was my wife's and I first time attending the show.

Had a great time and met some very down to earth train people.

Most vendors very professional and had the attitude can I show you my product or can I help you.

We are planning on attending the meet in October and I am sure we are going to have a great time and meet more people that is into the great hobby.

Me too. But the trip isn't about buying trains any more. Its the conversation on the ride down and back. And running into people I know at the show. I'd say my big purchase at the last show was an NOS 671RM-2 brush plate.

I will thank Mike Wolf for great Reading models and encourage him to make more.

I will urge Lionel to model Baldwin high-pressure 3-cylinder compound 4-10-2 No. 60000 in The Franklin Institute, Philadelphia.

I will visit OGR. I may ask to rub Ed Boyle's head for good luck, depending on his mood.

I will take my seat for the OGR presentations in the grandstand.

I will miss the wooden sheds that were removed a while ago. They afforded shady places to park.

Good one, Mike & David. I told my wife what you guys said, here, and she got a good chuckle out of it, esp. considering she has been with me on that gruesome stretch of Rt30 from Lancaster to York at TCA Meet time.

That I think is what makes it a great time.

Notwithstanding that the whole venue is a marketplace, and even considering that I am a vendor, I have to agree with you.

If life is only about the acquisition of things, that's a bit dubious, IMHO. However, sharing such an experience as the hunt - the adventure - many of us are on as we search for treasures, long-desired and/or newly pined-for, at TCA's Meet 2x's a year, then we have something worth our collective and individual while. IMHO.

The acquaintances and friends, customers and clients I have experienced over the twelve Meets I have attended have, indeed, made the whole effort and adventure worth it. I value and treasure them all.

Dave,

Only you could come up with something like that. We used to call our former superintendent "Traffic Cone". All he did was sit in his office! The only time we saw him Move, was to walk get a double free lunch everyday at the cafeteria.
