TIU help please, I added a new TIU to control one of my 3 main lines. I went to find a engine on the new line and I could not add it.

I put the engine on an already existing and working line and it also could not find it again on the third line also it could not find it.

I tried other engines that I knew ran OK on lines one and two and now they do not work even though then worked prior on 1 and 2 now , they are already in the remote but I could not get them to be recognize  in the remote.

OK, I followed the DCS book and deleted all of the TIU's

I also did a reset on them and added them in again with a different address number as the book stated.

All the TIU's gave the correct blinking flashes as appropriate for the TIU address.

When I did a read on them with the remotes( I have two.) they only found the first TIU.

Any suggestions on what the culprit would be?

Thanks

John

John,

Did you neglect to add the second TIU (#2) to your DCS Remote? If so, do so as follows:

Menu/System/TIU Setup/Add TIU, select TIU #2 and press the thumbwheel.

DCS Book CoverThis and a whole lot more is all in “The DCS Companion 3rd Edition!"

This book is available from many fine OGR advertisers and forum sponsors, or as an eBook or a printed book at OGR’s web store!

The TIU's where all given a number that differed from the last, the TIU's are #2, 4, and 5. presently. I did like you said however when I get to add TIU in the TIU setup section it will only let me add #1. also when I do a read it will only find #2.   Sorry if I did not explain it more clearly, they sent a camera inside me today and I am still a bit groggy.

Back to the basics....We have to find out the TIU  (IDs)numbers by counting the red led blinks on power up.. Unfortunate dcs will allow us to Willie Nellie add tiu even  if they don't exist... You may have to edit  delete reset or add . But we need to know the blinks on each tiu to find out exactly where you're  at.

WE know you definitely have a 2 blinker  TIU #2  and it's found. That's good. I smell another super mode runner in the future.

Greg thank you, The TIU's are blinking correctly, #2 gets two blinks, I get 4 blinks on 4 and 5 on 5. that's all good.

the last time I reset them was last night and I did the following.

I deleted all of them.

I then reset all of them.

I then added all of them and gave each one its own number not using the one the TIU # the TIU had prior.

I just checked, it will not let me super them up, it is only seeing one TIU #2

Yes they will all be in super modes.

All 300+ running feet of that 3rail heaven.

John if you have a TIU as #1 set  put a program track on that TIU and turn on all the TIU's and set them to Super TIU then turn all off but TIU#1on a program track have it unhook from the rest of the layout ,it help's if none of the layout track is on just that program track ,put your engine's in your remote one at time on that TIU it take time but I had the same thing happen to my layout ,it has about 2000 Ft. track and I have 2 TIU , then the engine's will be see on the other TIU's , what happens if you don't have it in super TIU when you program your engine say on TIU #2 then TIU# 3 will not see it but it will run fine on#2 but not on #3 , if you get one of your TIU's on #1 this will help and have the program track on that TIU.
