I bought a used 6-12911 TMCC Command Base. Hooked it up to my MTH with the TIU/Legacy connector cable. How do you check out the TMCC Command Base to see that it is working? I know you take a chance when you buy something used. I want to run my TMCC S gauge engines with the MTH Remote Controller. Tried programing, nothing happens when I push the start-up button. I have 18 volts on the engine on the track.

What came with this TMCC Command Base was a two pin AC adaptor. I looked inside the base to make sure the green and red light indicator was plugged in tight. When try to program no red light flashes. Enclosed is some photos of what I have hook up.
That is the incorrect adapter and the reason the command base doesn't work. You MUST use the proper matching adapter for the command base! The Lionel adapter will have three pins, and it MUST be connected to a properly grounded outlet.
You need to contact the seller and insist they provide the proper power supply.

An alternative is to run a wire from pin 5 of the Command Base rs-232 port to the ground screw of a nearby grounded metal duplex outlet or household electrical ground until you get the right adapter.
