I was commissioned by LehighValleyRailroad here on OGR to install Cruise M into a few of his diesel engines as well as install new LED lighting.

The first one, a K-Line GP38, is 100% complete.

The second one, a Lionel C-420, is just getting the last of its LED's installed. One thing that I found difficult in this engine was how cumbersome it was to replace the old module and install the ERR Cruise M module. Lionel designed it in such a way that the front motor couldn't be removed from the chassis, which blocked most access...

Anyways, I wanted to test the headlight and back up light to see if they would operate. The problem was, the engine would come on in conventional mode, and wouldn't respond to my Legacy remote's commands at all, nor would it cycle through forward/neutral/reverse in conventional mode. The bell and horn functioned, but not the direction. I tested the Legacy with another engine, and it responded 100% fine.

If anyone has some advice, I would gladly appreciate it. I would like to get these engines back to Chris as quickly as possible, so he is happy and gets what he wanted. I did solder the blue serial data to the R2LC connection, and connect the 4 prong plug back into the Cruise M. I have a bad feeling that the R2LC board went bust on me, despite the fact that I did use an anti-static mat when doing all my upgrades/repairs.
