Robert,

Bigdodge is giving you the correct skinny, if you have your Legacy 990 base plugged into a Multi Bar, unplug it and plug it directly into a well grounded house outlet.

Most Multi Plug Bars are not grounded well enough to make the legacy unit function properly.  It's one of the things I think Lionel needs to stress in their Legacy instructions and educational Videos.

Guns,

Just what is a MOV, where do I look to disconnect it, will I need to solder to buy pass it, or just clip some wires?  A little more electrical technical engineering help please.  I would really like to use my good Multi plug Bar close to my transformers

for my Legacy base.  It runs everything else perfectly.

cbojanowner,

The Harbor Fright multi bar like yours is not a problem, I use them under my platform, it's just to long to put on my roll away power supply set up with the transformers.

I want to plug into the Multi plug, 8 outlet Bar you see just above the Z4k, somehow it messes up the Legacy signal, I thought it was the grounding in it that messed up the signal.  Right now I run my Legacy clear back to the main house wall plug with a Etekcity remote control switch, to make it work properly.
