I could not find any direct Williams replacement tire for the Crown Edition series engines, contact Brasseur Electric Trains in Saginaw,MI., telephone number 989-793-4753, I have the Williams Crown Edition 611 "J". If you have vernier calipers measure the wheel tread diameter, the width of the milled slot on the wheel tread that the traction fits into and the depth of this milled slot. Measurements should be in inches and millimeters, the parts department at Brasseur checked all the traction tires in their inventory and found a Lionel replacement that works well.

John,

The MTH tires I tried on one of my Williams brass engines was too thick and just a tad too wide.  The tires on my brass J are very thin, about 1/2 the thickness of the MTH tires.  I replaced the 4 with ones that came with the engine but one has already torn off.  I may have to get some Bullfrog Snot or RTV.

One trick you can do is to stretch a smaller tire.  It's a bit of a struggle, but it makes them thinner.  I've found the MTH tires to be a lot thinner than most of the Lionel tires, they're frequently too fat, even for the locomotives they come on!

I've never used it yet! I did purchase a bottle of "Frog Snot" from our LHS to use when I have to replace tires on the next go round. I don't even know how a person would get it on the wheels, but it ain't rocket science for sure.

All-in-all the product seemed to be very well thought of from different forum members. So maybe some will read this post, and chime in, giving you a +/- on using the product, and how again, to install it....................................Brandy
