I have a Lionel #6-22982 ZW transformer new old stock, that had a bad control. It has since been refurbished and for sale @ $360.00, which includes shipping. Unit has 2 of 135 watt bricks, and we will guarantee for 1 year. Everything is new in the original box and shipping carton. Harry
Hi John...
It sounds to me like you are going where I just came from. I recently upgraded to 180 watt bricks and have some stuff you may be able to use...KW190 for one. Email me if you want to discuss. Email is in my profile...Thanks
Good Afternoon, I rebuild and recondition post war transformers. The transformers are completely "torn down", cleaned, new rollers and pins, new Lionel replacement cords, the whistle disk replaced with a heavy duty diode, the circuit breaker tested several times and if it doesn't work correctly every time it is replaced and all solder joints checked and re-soldered if not good. I guarantee my work and have sold over (20) KW and ZW's over the past two years to Forum members with no call backs whatsoever.
I have one in great condition, with an excellent case, you can have for $90.00 plus actual shipping costs from my zip, 03086 to your zip. All packaged up it will weigh about 11 pounds. If you want to upgrade to a ZW, i have several excellent ones in the price range of $145.00 to $180.00
If you are interested, I will send you detailed pictures of the unit. Let me know and thanks for your interest.

Jim I live in Reidsville NC. That is in the Nth Central part of the state. So shipping should be reasonable.
I am interested in a ZW-R because I think it will have enough kick to power all my future needs. I hope these vintage transformers are compatible with DCS because that is what I plan to use.
I have not built the layout yet, but have completed the bench work and will be eventually adding new DCS TIU and AIU units with remote and using scale trax to upgrade my Norfork and Southern RTR MTH set. So buying a transformer is my next step in the process.
Send me any pictures or info to my email @ jewilson7@bellsouth.net and thank you.
