Trouble with CAB-2 Turning On/Off

I just started having an odd issue with my CAB-2. This happens with either rechargeable and non-rechargeable batteries.  When I turn off the CAB-2 by holding down the red CTC button the screen goes blank like it should, but the back light stays on indefinitely.  At this point the CAB-2 will not turn back on by pressing the red CTC button.  The only way I found to turn it back on is to take out a battery and put it back in.  As soon as I put the battery back in it turns on right away without pressing the red CTC button.  I did upgrade to 1.60 last week, but it was still working fine after that until today.  Any ideas?

I've had some issues with the red button. There are two surface mount momentary switches under the red button and they do not always both click when pressing unless I press harder.

Otherwise...back to Lionel. I think they are still providing the lifetime warranty for all the Legacy base and cab2 products.

Talk about great turn around time.  I received an email from Lionel that they received my Legacy Command Set on Wednesday (11/18) just before lunch time.  I just got another email stating it is being shipped back to me.  They usually ship 2-day air so I should have it back on Monday.  I hope they tell me what the problem was and what they did to resolve it.  Maybe they are just sending me a new set.  One can hope.
