Today I was painting a locomotive with my airbrush. I opened a fresh bottle of Polly S acrylic Loco Black, poured some into a jar, added some Polly S Acrylic Airbrush Thinner - and the paint instantly turned into sludge. I cleaned up the mess, took some more paint from the same bottle, thinned it with distilled water, and it worked fine.

HUH? Anybody got a clue what just happened?

Had that happen as well Using Poly S with their own thinner. Airbrush clogged instantly and the paint jar looked like a milkshake. Tried a few more times with the same result. Was airbrushing track and switched to Floquil to finish up. Decided to toss the thinner. I still have a few bottles of Building Brown paint for the rails still unpainted on the layout. I prefer the water based paints for a big job in the layout room. I sort of gave up on them after buying a spray both and switched exclusively to Floquil. With their demise I've since started using True Color Paints with good results.
