Dear Folks - This is my first OGR Forum posting, so I hope I've chosen the right forum.
About 18 months ago, I bought an MTH CN Turbo Train set, but I've only now had a chance to run it. It's a beautiful model and looks great on my new layout. However, when I start the engine, there is an odd electronic whine coming from the front engine - no recognizable engine sounds. The train moves around the track fine, but there is no bell, no horn, and no PFAs. The LED interior lights on two of the passenger cars worked when I first started the engine, but they have since stopped working. On shut down, the whining engine takes about 20 seconds to shut off. The cables between the cars are firmly attached. I think the battery is fully charged - I let the set run for about four hours on the track to make sure. I'm using an MTH DCS remote control handheld unit, and the engine is switched to DCS mode. All my other MTH Proto-Sound 2.0 and 3,0 engines are working fine. Any thoughts about what's happening? Is it something I said?
Thanks!

Yes, I reset it to factory settings - same things happened. I'm starting to feel cursed when it comes to models of the CN Turbo: my N-gauge version in the early 1970s fell off the track easily; my HO version a few years ago was pretty to look at but was unrekuable; and now my gorgeous O-scale version is causing me grief. They are the problem children in my collection! Oh well. Thanks to everyonew for your advice.
