Two level Legacy Hook up | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I currently have 1 TMCC and 1 Legacy and 1 Vision Line Legacy on 3 separate loops, all loops are connected to the same Legacy control unit and one Lionel 180 brick transformer.

Currently a second level is being built to run the VL Bigboy and I plan to have a separate 180 brick to power it, plans are to add another Legacy engine in the future so the top track will have 2 legacy engines, the loop is about 46 feet long.

Please, I am an simple unskilled model train operator and no electrical experience.

THE QUESTION:

With that in mind and in my words, can I splice the white wire and connect it to the upper level or just add a second wire, if a second wire is better, what gauge wire .

I would just run a 2nd wire to the upper loop. 14ga should be just fine, 16ga if it's only a few feet.

I used a Banana plug in the Legacy Base, ran both wires from the Banana plug to

my different levels of Fastrack, and all the Legacy engines runs perfectly on the Christmas layout.
