Anyone else having order delays at Shapeways?

It seems that my orders have been stopped for a week now.

I don't know what's going on and they're playing the "we have 12 days before the scheduled ship date" card, and their customer service (Nisey) is not impressive.

After close to $600 so far this year, I'd expect better performance from them, given their track record.

But, after have a single part holding up an entire order for a week, is unacceptable.  I have 4 open orders, 2 from 10 days ago, that are just stopped...

Most places like this are where money talks.  If someone with a ton of money comes in and needs something now, they'll bump lower profit items.  But it could also be that a machine or two are down and everyone is getting bumped.  Just remember they are a proto house, so timing is always fluid and moving around, if you needs something faster, you have to pay more.

We mentioned this on the other thread.  I just received emails saying that my items have finally shipped.  When ordering, the estimated ship date was listed as November 1st, so I wasn't going to get too twisted about delays yet.

The problem for me is watching the status of my models move forward, and then backward.  Parts that were indicated as "in production" reverted to "pre-production" before moving back to "in production".

Also, three of my parts, in Frosted Extreme Detail, were done within several days of order placement.  The last part, in Black Strong and Flexible, has taken almost two weeks to finish, being in production for about 10 days.

I suppose one solution is to only order parts of the same material at the same time, but that will negate any efficiency in paying only one shipping fee.

I'm going to consider sending future parts to a different printer service.  I'll have to see the quality of these parts for starters, and then compare quality, cost, and timing between Shapeways and another source.

I would agree with all of you, except for one thing...

The three later orders are of the same material, and are already in production and/or packaging!

And three of them are for the same (albeit revised) part!!!!

That's right, I've changed a drawing and order more parts, of the same Black material, with them being built BEFORE my first order was past "pre-production".

He the problems with Shapeways. If they would only be able to talk them on the phone.

Some of the productions problem would be cleared up the same Day.

No, they will only discuss any problems, using "only"  E-mail.

Being able to talk back and fort would be nice. On there surveys  I had told them that many times to avail.

I was told by one there employees that there isn't any Phone set up in there NYC, Office.

That's a problem being able just to talk with there technician to reserve a production problem once and for all the same Day.

I will used them for my, NYC Transit Subway Signals too.

Good luck, John kb2agpjohn@aol.com Cell also 848-992-2157.
