I received my Atlas undecorated troop kitchen car yesterday. Unlike the Weaver undecorated troop sleeper I purchased a few years ago, the Atlas undecorated kitchen car comes with no detail parts applied to the car body or the under frame . You get to put them all on! Now unaplied detail parts on the car body makes good sense, but the unaplied detail parts on the under frame does not make sense at all.

The trucks are plastic. For the price of this car I was expecting metal trucks. The new products announcement for the Atlas Troop sleepers states that the cars will have Die cast Allied Cushion framed trucks.

Have a look at the pictures below.

Its a good thing that I have a Weaver broken frame version of the troop kitchen and assembled under frames on my surviving Weaver troop cars because there are absolutely no instructions with this baby. I am not sure how someone who does not have an assembled troop kitchen would know where to put all the parts on the car, especially the brake gear under the floor.

 Thanks,

Richard
