Video of Southern 4501 and 630

Great video, two Southern beauties for sure. I really liked the turning of the two locomotives and the UP intermodal engineers blowing their horn while passing at the beginning of the video.

Hi Richard.

The 4501 excursion is coming to my side of the state in June.

Already purchased our tickets today. Bristol Va to Radford Va and return.

We rode the 630 when it was over here last time from Bristol Va to Bluff City TN. That trip is also being done on the 4501 in June.

I wish I could work in a ride behind 4501 or 630. "its a fur piece from the corner of southwest Tennessee to Bristol. I did get to ride behind 4501 back in 75 and 76 when it came through Memphis on an excursion to Corinth, MS It was the first time in my live I saw a real steam engine under power. It was quite a site!

How do you find out about these excursions? is there a website?

Check out a few of these web sites. I think you can spend a day reading about train history on these. There are several more all tied together all over the state.

Also, our local papers have always run the advertisement on these excursion rides that are going to be done in this area
