Here is a Video of the Southern RR 4501 and 630 during an excursion. The video was made by David Sutter, a member of our Casey Jones High Railer modular RR group. David chased the two steamers and has provided us with some very nice video.  Mike Allison, a member of the local HO modular group in Memphis posted the video on YouTube. Here is the link.

Thanks Larry,

I wish I could work in a ride behind 4501 or 630. "its a fur piece from the corner of southwest Tennessee to Bristol. I did get to ride behind 4501 back in 75 and 76 when it came through Memphis on an excursion to Corinth, MS It was the first time in my live I saw a real steam engine under power. It was quite a site!

How do you find out about these excursions? is there a website?

Thanks,

Richard

Check out a few of these web sites. I think you can spend a day reading about train history on these. There are several more all tied together all over the state.

Also, our local papers have always run the advertisement on these excursion rides that are going to be done in this area

1. The Watauga Valley Railroad Historical Society Museum. Johnson City TN

2. Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum.  Chattanooga TN
