Wow, are the years flying by that quickly ?   "80s and '90s are vintage now ?   I'd hate to think what something from the '50s is considered.

Is Lionel even still making Large scale ?   Great Trains has been out of business for quite some time now.  Your best bet might be to look on Ebay or just Google images of Lionel Large Scale or Great Trains.

Lionel g is vintage?  In my mind they were a newcomer, challenging the dominance of lgb in the garden trains during the mid 80s.  The only modern g gauge considered to be somewhat vintage or collectible is early lgb from the late 60s or 70s.  Theat said, the Lionel products are 30ish years old.

Btw did Lionel make a camera engine like they did in o?

Lionel G is junk esp. the latest offerings. The old Lionel GP20's & GP9's were built to 1:32 scale but all the rolling stock is like 1:24...what were they thinking??

GT was okay but dated as not much detail and the passenger cars were flimsy plastic things as the roofs would blow off in a 10 mph wind. The F40PH was too short as Ralph Brown left a section out of the body.

Stick with the new offerings by MTH, Accucraft or USA Trains.
