I was curious since I have a Clinchfield Challenger. So you sucked me in to finding the answer you sly old fox.

I have had 41 cars behind mine along with my lionel ac9  and mth Yellowstone and GN R2.  12 passenger cars (mth 18 inch) pull harder than all 40 freight cars.  the trucks with rollers really put a drag on these cars.  Still wish someone would make a power supply for the baggage car to feed voltage via plug ins from each passenger cars and make the load easy.

 

It will put a lot more than that too ;-)

Wow, very informative, and I agree with laidoffsick, this monster will pull many more of the new scale freight cars with the right curves, with well laid track. I look forward to watching the video.  Do a Double Header and pull 100!   Yes...Happy Railroading..

When I get the layout started, one of my 'to do list' is 2 VL Challengers pulling a 100 PFE reefers!  One at the front, and one pushing.

 

 

You are so correct, 33 total cars, 2 of which are Nice Cabooses!!!  You have to admit, we could not have done these Neat Operations without these modern Hi Tech Engines and great Track....Its just Down Right FUN!!!! Thanks for the Video....

Ive had mine pulling a 70 foot long train and it didnt even phase the ol challenger. I bet I could get it to pull a train so long it would look like a dog chasing its tail  on the layout
