I didn't really know which forum to put this under, as it's not 3 rail, it's 2 rail, and it's probably scale, but to what I wouldn't have the foggiest.

I was looking thru some old pictures trying to enjoy retirement and cabin fever! The old pictures that I found were are of Moonie Warther's Museum in Dover, Ohio. I was wondering how many forumites have been there and what was your take.

I came away with, if God ever gave a gift to anyone person, it had to be Mr. Warther. I wouldn't have believed that anything with so much craftsmanship, and detail could be carver from bone, ivory, and wood, some coming from the other side of the world. The majority of it represented Railroading in America. I guess that I didn't see anything there, that I couldn't just stand and say "WOW", to myself!..................................................................................................Hiram Abiff

been there 3 times once in the early 80's and twice in the last 2 years. truly an amazing place to see anything from a Big Boy to the Lincoln funeral train all hand carved out of hard woods bone and ivory. well worth the visit to hear and see this amazing story.

and if you want some of the best kitchen knives the one's they make on the premises are outstanding, made by some of Mr Warthers family with lifetime warranty and free sharpening. if you are in the area well worth the visit.

Went there many times on school field trips in the late 60s and early 70s. Mr. Warther was still living then and he was always there when we visited, sitting in the lobby and carving miniature sets of pliers with only a few cuts from his knife. He particularly enjoyed telling us about his experiences working in a large boiler shop during his younger days. He carved a large diorama of it and (at that time) had it displayed in the lobby/gift shop area. I need to visit again.
