2 rail or 3 rail?
If you can't find one of those, I highly recommend this Lionel Odyssey P7 4-6-2 B&O Pacific loco. I consider this one equally if not more attractive as the Cincinnatian, Blue Comet, or Blue Goose.
There is one on the bay right now for $450.
Sent you an e-mail
rheil, 3 rail
Hookedontrain, nothing received.
Thanks

what is the Lionel number please?
Chas, that is a great one. I recently put PS3 in one of those for a friend and recently made a deal with another friend to get one. As beautiful that locomotive is, it runs like crap. I am also seeking the locomotive Caljah wants. Those make great PS2 or PS3 conversions.

6-28066
Pretty B&O engines. Both the Pacific and Cincinnatian. I remember when the B&O ran passenger trains into Philly and the station was on the the east side of the Schulykill river. Don't recall if I saw one of these, but you sure did see GG1's on the other side of the river.

Hi Marty,
Are the issues perhaps with squeaky drive or piston rods? Mine does not start up as smooth as many of my diesels. This is my only steam engine and I was wondering what you've experienced so I can compare?
lurch.

Gotcha
I recently put one of these on the track at the local club for the first time. Oiled all the wheels and driving rods etc first, and squeezed grease into the two ports on the bottom first. Beautiful engine that looks and sounds great.
As far as running, it did not have the Odyssey 1 "lurch" some have described, but it took 21 volts to make it run at only moderate speed with a modest consist behind it. (Side effect was terrific steam production!) I thought perhaps after a warm-up/break-in period it would not be as sluggish, but no change after an hour or two of running.
Any recommendations?
David
I did a double take when I saw Marty's posts. Then I looked at the dates.
What a great loss for all of us... I'm sure Marty is running trains in a far better place.
God's speed, Marty.
Does the Weaver B&O Cincinnatian Pacific with the QSI sound system have a battery like MTH Protosounds 1 engines?
