Here is another project from the talented hands of our club scratch builder/kit basher. He built this about 6 years ago. It consists of 2 E8s and 8 cars. The E8s are K-line units with TMCC. The cars are a mix of MTH, Williams and K-Line. For many of the cars, he milled down the sides to about half thickness to remove details and cut out window struts. Then he glued in the proper thickness sheet styrene that had the the window holes correctly placed and sized for the particular car. If a car was lacking seating, he made that and populated the benches. The full length vista dome actually took the least amount of modification. People, paint and decals were all it needed.

I'd recognize that dark platform anywhere......in fact it's much brighter than it was last Aug!!!

LOL! Yep it's a real dungeon!! We will have to see what it looks like after the next round of "remodeling" they have started.

I knew I recognized it too. Boarder line creepy. I remember leaving at night to head back to Boston.

A few photos of new Downtown Deco build - was originally the DTD Barbershop and Newsstand.  Yes, I know, the building on the far right, on photo 3 is not quite finished in the back.

You are developing a really handsome neighborhood, there, jcovert, and the newest build is perfect, in and of itself, as well as along with the others. Exceptional.

I initially had planned to name my layout "Turbine Town". Scratch that when you have a 3 yr old granddaughter that loves trains. Charlotte has renamed it "Choo-choo Land".

I have been pulling wire. Lots of wire. The outer mainline per the DCS is about 1.2 scale miles. There is still tons to do. The first lap had the engine stopping and starting numerous times. The pickup rollers were initially throwing an almost continuous spray of sparks.

From the videos, you can see I'm pushing a Dummy Rock Island (bought from Jim Policastro for Charlotte). Behind that my newly added track cleaning car, and my magnet equipped gondola car. Bring up the rear is a VO1000 belonging to #2 granddaughter Lola.

Now that the rains have stopped for a while, rock climbers and hikers are enjoying the many new trees and shrubs added to my mountain today!

VERY real, Stangtrain. both shots. If I had not spotted the lichen, a familiar miniature to all of us, I would have thought these scene were real-life. I had to search to be sure they were modeling. Wow. Super-skilled craftwork, indeed!

Train Nut while a large segment of our hobby and thus a large segment of forum members model more realistic, hi-rail, there are still many toy train or shall I say less detail and realism oriented enthusiasts. That's a nice layout you've got there, the only thing needed is a platform for the trolley.

I know most on this forum won't appreciate this video. But I've had both a high rail layout and a toy train layout and I love the fun associated with toy trains.  Hope there's some toy train enthusiasts on this forum that will I like it.

I suspect more of us appreciate  your video that you think. It looks great. I am looking forward to more videos and pictures of this in the future!

The Train Training for  my grandsons continues with a field trip to the local model railroad club as part of a practical exercise to test the knowledge they have gained form playing with granddaddy's trains.

I appreciate all the Likes.

Have a great week,

Oh, I don't know about that. I'm a Hi-Railer, and I do stuff like that in the photo below, but I still enjoyed your toy layout. Takes me back to Lionel and Marx displays in the 50's, at places like Sears. I wanted all of it.

Wow! That's some amazing weathering, especially for a plastic building. I love the 'ghost' effect of long-removed metal signs. Great work!
