A few assorted pictures taken over this past month.

My MTH Steelers dump car is parked under the (unwired) coal loader in the town of Stanton, Pa. on the D.A.R.E. Model RR Club's O gauge West Penn Railroad.

I shot a video of the extended loop-to-loop run off the Mountain Branch and secondary mainline. This operation will support multi-train operation, but the operators really have to pay attention to avoid having a "Gomez Addams incident."

The video is here on YouTube. Here are some captures from the video.

A lot has changed in this area. The tunnel in the background was "daylighted" and the On30 is being installed as is evidence of logging activity.

Here are other screen captures from the video.

Here it is about to hit the newly-installed sprung crossover to reverse in the staging yard. The turnouts are set up so that normal running of the secondary main hits the turnouts in trailing point mode. The turnouts are also equipped with pins to lock them closed if needed. The springing is firm enough to hold the points, but soft enough so even scale wheels will pass through safely.

Here it is on the return.

Thanks. We've been working pretty hard the past year. Stayed there four hours after "closing time" doing some cutting to set up a scenery modification,

I see the ships funnel was found, I want to do some work on it when I am there.

We've missed you John. I'll let the guys know. Of course, you run the risk of us not letting you leave.

It's Monday morning and due to a derailment east of Maryville over the weekend that took over a day to clean up, the trains are running fast and furious to make up for lost time.  As NYC Mohawk #2797 races past, Ed, the Maryville Yard Foreman is talking with Pete, his number one, and some of the yard crew about the congestion the yard is going to see as a result of all the train delays.  It is going to be a busy start to the week in Maryville, but I am confident that Ed and his crew can handle it.  Bo

Is Ed the guy in the top hat? He wouldn't be any kin to that similar shaped guy on the Island of Sodor would he?
