I see a few people on here are in the Western NY area, any good suggestions on an O Gauge Club?

By far, the Toy Train Collectors Society is the most active in west-central and capital district areas of New York.
The much talked about Utica show is a TTCS event.
What does the TTCS do in the Capital District?
The Capital district is the headquarters of the Empire and Eastern Division of the Toy Train Operating Society. The Empire and Eastern was fairly active for a while, and even ran a successful train show for a number of years. The train shows ended. I don't know how active they are these days.
The Western NY TCA members formed a chapter of the Eastern Division, misnamed "Upstate New York Chapter".
The answer will depend on whether you are closest to Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse or Albany. TTOS has a big presence in Buffalo, for example. Rochester has the Flower City Tinplate Trackers modular club. TCA has a new upstate chapter headquartered in Buffalo. I'm less familiar with the Syracuse and Albany areas, but others can fill in.
I see your profile says Clarence, NY. I think there's a couple guys that post here that are also from right there. There names escape me right now. There's been a couple of posts on the G scale forums from guys in you area also.

Members of the Flower City trackers post here and they're always at the Buffalo shows.

I am just outside Buffalo, Since I am basically just getting back into the hobby, I am looking to learn everything I can possible 
There is also the Buffalo Model Railroad Club. They are having an open house this weekend. Worth checking out. They have both an HO and 2 rail O scale layout.

Add, the Genesee Model Engineers located in Oakfield. They have a fine 3 Rail O and HO layouts.

Your area has more top shelf layouts than any part of the country. I have spent a lot of my life in your area. My family is in the Falls, Buffalo, and N Tonowanda. I have many train friends in the area. This summer I went to TTOS in Buffalo and spent the week staying with my friend Frank Battaglia. Are there any clubs between Rochester and Syracuse?
The Capital District still has a very active TTOS chapter. We are the Empire and Eastern Division of the TTOS. Recently however, the TTOS has decides to disband as of 12-31. Our group has decided to continue on as a group of friends and model railroaders/collectors. We are doing two train shows a year and we just had our fall show last weekend here in Albany. We have a very enjoyable weekly webinar and we do get model railroaders from all over the country who join us for those meetings. At times, we hold a meeting at a members house to view a layout. We also have a group of modelers from the Lower Hudson Valley who we have a lose affiliation with. Quite a few of us are regulars here on the Forum. If anyone wants information on the group or would like to join us some evening as a guest on our Wednesday Webinar meetings, please contact me using my email address on my profile page. Bill Park
