Can understand the situation with the dogs. We have two rescue cats that fit a similar mold but with the automatic feeders and the extra litter boxes they can stay unattended for a couple of days. As for dogs, consider that some hotels allow them for an extra fee. Perhaps something to consider for the future.

Hello guys and gals.........

I just adopted a unwanted feral cat that been sitting in cage for almost a year at the animal shelter before I pick her.  She wont let anyone pat her except me.  I called her "Lucy" from the peanut gang cartoon (Charlie brown). She responds well to that simple name. I was told by them that she came from a abused home where home owner had 103 cats!!!

Good for you Jennifer! I would do exactly the same. My dogs come before trains"Always" I saw a great bumper magnet the other day,"I love my dogs. "It's humans that annoy me!   So true.

As far as York is concerned I'm not shooting for anything in particular;Maybe some Passenger or freight cars I've been looking for and the usual smoke fluid, parts at MTH.

I hope to find buyers for all the items I've been pricing and packing over the last few weeks!

I'll be set up in the red hall for the first time in two years With a variety of prewar, postwar, and modern goodies for sale. Need to sell some things to replenish the train fund after purchasing a Third Rail N&W Mollie in Strasburg livery!

Also looking forward to seeing old friends, meeting new ones, and getting away from work for a couple of days.

Here's to a great York meet. Hope every one has a good one!

More shelving from the gentleman in Buffalo.  A wide selection of light bulbs, hopefully a kit in a nice case with dividers.  Or I could put one together myself.  A couple of pick-up items (locomotives) already ordered for the kids on behalf of Santa.  And, last but not least I have to pick up a set of 2400 series passenger cars from my dad that I had restored.

I don't have any particular must haves at this point.  Just planning to look for what catches my eye.  I do have a set budget I plan to stick within.  Mostly I am just looking forward to being at York and seeing what the experience is all about.  Looking forward to hopefully meeting some of you there.

There are good restaurants in York but most are away from RT 30. Most of what you find along Rt 30 are "restaurants" that heat up pre-packaged and canned food. Most of these joints serve food at the lower end of culinary scale. If you want to dine in a restaurant serving farm to table food with schooled chefs that cook fresh and from scratch:

The Left Banke on N George Street ( Upscale)

The Blue Heron  on E Market   (French chef )

Market Street Café   Small family run place that serves Thai and Vietnamese food

Masa (Very good Japanese food near Ruby Tuesdays)

You can check out their menus and locations online.
