From what I have seen, they started running these boxcars (with the advertising for various Santa Fe passenger trains) in the late 1940's. I do know that they were still running these boxcars well into the 1960's (although faded as seen in 2nd photo). The link below the photos should have more info for you:

I thought Pullman started making the PS-1 in 1947. 

 

Swafford, are you referring to the map slogan or the PS-1. The slogan was applied between 1940-1947. But the model is of a PS-1 introduced in 1947. The PS-1 is really close in looks to the 1937 and 1944 AAR boxcar. Because the slogans were applied as late as 1947 you would likely see the car in service years afterwards.
