The SD3R treasuer has the Ohio State Buckeye Train. I like it cause it can torment one of the kids club members nuts because he is a Clemson Tigers fan. MTH produced this nice set, so what is your favorite set and if they don't make your set what is your favorite, Football Team, Baseball Team, and College that you hope MTH will make that train in the future if it happens again?

My favorite is the Chargers, Padres and Alabama.

Tim,

Come now everyone knows there is only one real Sports Train, it's the Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl Train, with the add on rolling stock.  Course the Hi Railers members have an incredible Steelers Train with all the rolling stock including the Chucks Hall of Fame Box Car, very serious Train Set.

Yunz Pittsburgh guys are talking about the only SIX-time Super Bowl Winning Team so here’s my Steelers train with a box car commemorating each of the 6 Super Bowl wins.  I had to spread it over 3 parallel tracks because I couldn't get a complete photo of such a long train.

You can take a Pittsburgh guy out of the ‘Burg but you can’t take the ‘Burg out of the guy!

I don’t believe that MTH ever made a Pittsburgh Pirates train SET just freight cars and accessories.

Some other Pirates-related cars made by MTH that I don’t think have been mentioned yet on this thread are a Flat car with a Trailer, a Modern tank car, a Forbes Field double-door box car, a 1971 World Series Champs box car and a Roberto Clemente 3000th hit box car.

Also there is a new Pirates box car in the 2015 Lionel Ready-to-run catalog.

BTW, I have a car decorated for the Pitt Panthers.  It’s a redecorated MPC reefer from 1983.

HTH,

Bill

Are you kidding? I'm lucky if I get to see the St Louis Rams on TV once a year! Any branded items are simply too much to expect.

Even when they're supposed to be the featured game, the broadcasters always seem to find something else to put on the air. Maybe if they win two or three more Super Bowls.... even then, that Virginia State Championship Girls Field Hockey semi-final game highlight reel from 1992 is just RIVETING!

Nice.  Post a picture!  I've never been able to find Pitt decals that would fit my boxcars.

As requested, here is a photo of my Pitt Panthers car.  It’s a Lionel MPC Billboard reefer redecorated in 1983 by Seymour Knight of Pleasant Valley Processing Co. who has decorated many cars for the TCA and other groups.

Add me to the OSU crowd along with the treasurer of the San Diego 3 railers...

... and then there's Lionel's Buckeye train set 6-30105.  I'm not at all into the red colored loco but the audio clip is better than MTH's sound file IMHO.

Will the Buckeyes do it again this year??? Go BUCS !!!

I never understood why the train manufactures didn't add the Pirates to their list of MLB trains.   While Pittsburgh is a small market, both the Steelers and Pirates have proven to be fan favorites around the country.    The last two Bucco wildcard games had excellent ratings.  I believe last year's wildcard game was the highest rated wildcard game in history.

Good question.  There probably weren't very many made and its now been 32 years.  Your best bet would be at York, a Ft. Pitt TCA train meet or one of the other local train shows around the 'burg.

HTH and back to the Steelers game,

Bill
