I was just thinking this morning about lash-ups. What do you think of running two single motored diesels together, but one a can motor and the other a pull more i.e.( GP-7). If they are in sync  with each other and you lock out the reverse; and you  put the faster of the two or more on point. Do you think there would be any problems? As far as over heating or such! Let me know, enquiring minds want to know!

It is extremely unlikely that the two units would run at the same speed at any voltage. One would constantly be pulling the other, and the second would be a drag on the first. The motor on the faster unit (probably the can-motor one) would likely overheat sooner or later. I never run two conventional units together that are not closely matched. To be sure of this, I set them on the track a foot or two apart and see how they move relative to one another. If one is significantly faster than the other, they should not be run together. I have sometimes found pairs of apparently identical units (especially if they have Pullmor motors) that aren't closely enough matched in speed to consider running them together.
