I want the Acela set but man are they expensive. I saw one on EBay a few months back that was around $2000 dollars I believe. I mean really......LOL

Anyway, I love the new Siemens locomotive allot. It has this really neat look about it. There was a time you could not ever get me to like or even appreciate European locomotives, but today, if one shows up, I spend every moment gawking at them. LOL

BTW. That Acela, was the one my Dad was thrown on when he got off in Baltimore by mistake and not BWI. SO, they put him on it and it took a mere 8 minutes from Baltimore's Union Station to BWI. My Dad asked the conductor if he could go back and get his stomach......LOL

Me? Oh I was jealous of my father alright. LOL

Cool train set.

I am not entirely sure, but I believe that Siemens opted for this particular wheel arrangement because of weight distribution as it relates to tractive effort. That would be my guess. The somewhat cab forward design allows for greater visibility. Which, if you have ever traveled in the European countries, is somewhat of a necessity.

It does have a cool look though in my opinion.
